![]() ![]() So my question here, am I screwed? I have already committed to purchasing another one of these as they are fun, even without the camera, but I would like to try and get this one back. ![]() I tried removing power for 30 minuets and powering up, nothing. I then lost the wifi connection and now nothing. Now for the oops, It was complaining about ActiveX and I thought I was adjusting those settings, but I received a message that the camera was re-setting and not to power-down, so I didn't. I was able to see the video but had a 1 second refresh rate, not streaming. ![]() Great! I found I could connect to the camera with the laptop via (192.168.1.1) and get in with a login of "admin". I got to looking on the internet about connecting a go-pro camera to a laptop and capturing video to VLC player. So every time I wanted to "play" I had to enlist one f them, and they don't want to come out in the cold. Only my Wife and Daughter have these devices, I only have a laptop. We had fun with it, but the problem I have is it requires a smart phone or tablet to download the app and capture videos. I purchased a "Sky Viper Video Streaming drone" (around $100 US) so not a real loss. Need some help with a camera wifi connection « on: January 19, 2016, 12:26:01 PM » Hello all, I am coming here as I really messed up and Dave said that this is the best place to find help. So my question is, can I reset the wifi module attached to the camera somehow physically? Is there some sort of reset pin that I can short or something to reset it to defaults? I've researched the wifi chip and here is the datasheet Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. This would no be a big deal, aside from the fact that I can no longer view the video stream from the camera, just a blank grey screen. Naturally, I changed the username and password, and upon trying to log back in, it will not accept my changed credentials either due to a typing mishap on my part, or some other reason. There was a pretty basic settings page and it notified me that my username/password were weak (the default was username: admin with no password) and needed to be updated. On a whim, I decided to see if i could access the configuration page for the wifi access point. The camera module creates its own wifi "hotspot" which you connect to with your device and use the app to view/record the video/pictures. I have a cheap drone, model in the title, that streams video to your phone via a wifi connection. It’s crazy how a little bit of metal can offset a good calibration.Ok, I've googled all over the place, and the only mention I found anywhere close to what I'm after was on this forum. Remove anything metal from your pockets, watches, etc. Please note: During the magnetometer calibration, please make sure the Sky Viper is far away from anything metal. If the text appears red, the calibration failed and needs to be redone. If the calibration is complete and it has an acceptable value, the completion text will appear in a green color and the value will be generally below 12 or so. As info is gathered the status bar on the calibration page will fill. Continue rotating the frame through each of these positions. Rotate the frame while level, then with the nose down, then nose up, left side down, then right side down. After clicking the button, you will need to rotate the frame several times in multiple angles. Open the WEB AP interface, select Calibration menu and select the Magnetometer tab to access the Magnetometer Calibration options. Poor performance while holding position (wide wandering, slow circular movements during hover) are indications of a bad calibration of the Magnetometer. This type of calibration is good for most users. The calibration will take just a few seconds. To calibrate, place the Sky Viper on a smooth, level surface with the power on and pressing the Start Simple Accelerometer Calibration button. Usually, the Simple Accelerometer option is enough. The accelerometer can be calibrated in either the Simple or Six-Axis calibration methods. These components can be calibrated when going to the Calibration page of the WEB AP interface. Your Sky Viper was calibrated at the factory, but it may have encountered environments during delivery that require recalibrating your components. ![]()
